consolidation of the efforts of women's organisations in taking concrete measures to defend the interests of children, women, families, pensioners and the needy;
enhancement of the participation of women in the social and political life of Russia, - promotion of their representation in all branches of power at all decision-making levels, practical implementation of the constitutional principle of equal rights, freedoms and equal opportunities for men and women in all spheres of social life;
carrying out the Convention provisions concerning the liquidation of all forms of discrimination in respect to women, realisation of the principle of equal rights, freedoms and equal opportunities to be fulfiled for men and women, which has been provided for by the RF Constitution (Article 19, item 3).
For the first time in the history of the Russian women's movement the Women's Movement of Russia jointly with other women's organisations have initiated signing the Charter of Women's Solidarity.
